When playing SCP: Secret Laboratory, the most important thing is to understand your role’s objective and team alignment.
You don’t need to memorize every detail below—just a general idea of each role’s goal is enough to play.
Since D-Class Personnel are the most common starting role, it’s recommended to read their objectives first under the Chaos Insurgency section.
Press F1 in-game to see your current role info.
If you don’t understand terms like Light Containment Zone or Heavy Containment Zone, refer to the Map.
If you skipped the background story, you just need to know:
There are three main teams in the game:
Each teama’s broad goal is to eliminate the other two teams.
Note: Although D-Class belong to the Chaos Insurgency team, they can choose to join the Foundation side under certain circumstances.
The Foundation force represents the SCP Foundation. Their objectives are to recontain (kill) all SCPs, secure the facility, and prevent other forces from taking control.
Some servers add a rule: Foundation players cannot kill D-Class unless they pose a threat, since technically D-Class can side with the Foundation.
Basic Gameplay Flow:
Start in the Light Containment Zone with a Scientist keycard.
To escape, progress through Heavy Containment, the Entrance Zone, and finally reach the Surface.
You need higher-level cards to pass checkpoints:
Once in the Entrance Zone, wait for MTF Nine-Tailed Fox to escort you.
Tips: If your server bans killing D-Class without cause, press E with a gun equipped to cuff them instead of shooting.
